![]() Watching Daisy, our grand-daughter, being so content and happy as she discovers herself and the world around her makes me reflect that faith is an inate gift of God. Yes, she cries loudly when hungry or her nappy needs changing, but there is no sense of fear in her eyes that she may not be fed, or that things threaten. Is this true for our relationship with God? I think so. I suspect that the fear that grips so many who struggle to venture out of the front door or who worry about how they are going to sustain their life (job, earnings, home etc.) has been learned through experience. We are not always in control of our lives and we are afraid. Is it possible, despite what experience may teach, to discover again that natural trust of a young new-born child? To receive the gift of faith from God and live it?
